The future leaders of the Defence League units take their final examination

The final exercise „Kotkalend 2019“ of the Estonian Defence League School taking place in Rapla County in the areas of Märjamaa and Rapla rural municipality from 9-13 October sums up the academic year of the Estonian Defence League School’s qualification courses.

Defence League’s exercise SIBUL 2019 takes place in Valga County this year

Exercise SIBUL 2019 of the Southern Territorial Defence Region takes place in Valga City and rural municipality from 13-15 September. Participants in the exercise are the Southern Estonian Defence League districts.

The winner of the Admiral Pitka Recon Challenge is the Estonian Defence League District of Pärnumaa team one

The winner of the International military sports competition, the Admiral Pitka Recon Challenge, which ended today in Valga, is the Estonian Defence League (EDL) District of Pärnumaa team one. The Headquarters of Estonian Defence Forces team finished in second place and EDL District of Pärnumaa team two came in third.

Defence League received new Commander

The current Commander, Major General Meelis Kiili, handed over the Defence League flag to Minister of Defence Jüri Luik. The Minister entrusted the Defence League flag to Colonel Riho Ühtegi, the new commander of the volunteer national defence organisation.

President visits elite UK amphibious unit on exercise with Defence League

President Kersti Kaljulaid visited a major military exercise on the north Estonian coast Wednesday, involving joint operations between voluntary Defence League (Kaitseliit) personnel, and members of Britain's elite Royal Marines.

Defence League volunteers join NATO troops in first-of-a-kind exercise

Personnel from Estonia's voluntary Defence League (Kaitseliit) were on exercise with NATO troops this weekend, according to Baltic News Service, gaining anti-tank warfare experience on a scale the organization had previously not enjoyed.

Over 1,200 uniformed personnel to take part in Victory Day parade

More than 1,200 uniformed personnel will take part in this year's Victory Day parade in Tartu on Sunday, the Defence League announced. For the first time, the latter won't line up its units by district, but by service branch, demonstrating recent quantum leaps in the preparedness of Estonia's volunteer force.

“Ole valmis!” (Be Prepared!) Mobile App Now in Three Languages

The mobile app “Ole valmis!” (Be Prepared!) launched by the Estonian Women's Voluntary Defence Organization is now available in Estonian, English and Russian. The app is in line with the 2018 Estonian "Code of Conduct for Crisis Situations".

The winner of the Admiral Pitka Recon Challenge is Scouts Battalion

The winner of the International military sports competition, the Admiral Pitka Recon Challenge, which ended today at the Laiuse fortress ruins, is Scouts Battalion. The Estonian Defence League (EDL) Järva District Team finished in second place and EDL Tallinn District Team Kalevi came in third.

Tallinn has become the Victory Day city

The Defence League is organizing the Victory Day parade on June 23 at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, where the historic armoured car „ Estonia“ will be shown on the 100th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Estonia and the Defence League. Units from all of the units and sections of the Defence League will be present as well.
